What happens when someone mix up US disaster drills with something else...
Apparently people have never heard of the tornado cover system in schools. Although I've never understood how covering my stomach was suppose to save kids.. ain't like your body is nailed into the floor.
I'm fairly sure 80% of it is just giving people something to do that they think will help to avoid panic.
Pretty sure it's something to do with keeping a low profile, but yea also what Mirsh said (it really helps to keep the children calm, and that actually matters).
As Kalga said, it helps to keep a low profile, making it harder for wind to pick you up (every little helps)
I figured as much but I mean why use logic and actually have them grab onto something that'll protect em then lie and say it'll work.
Also I don't think doing that makes it harder for wind to pick you up, its.. wind doing what 50mph, if it can pick up a car you ain't gonna stay still
