In Australia, it's not really the price, it's the speed.
I get lucky if I hit 600kb/s on my home's plan of... 25GB a month.
The government is using the funds from our promising Nation Broadband Network (that would change our copper phone/internet wires to fibre-optic) to scrap the Carbon Tax (which was actually a pretty good idea) and build more roads instead of upgrading public transport.
Here, we have the money, but parliament spends it in all the wrong places.
actually, it's both the price AND the speed; not to mention that we're a bloody huge place and there's no practical way to lay cables up and down the country to give everyone a steady connection - sometimes it actually is cheaper here to send letters via helecopter or motorbike courier than it is to get a sattelite hookup.
Wouldn't Australia be more correct? What is it like 2mb/$60 or something ridicules like that?
Actually, I understand this a lot. My school seems to be obsessed with teaching is how to write letters properly.
Make it stop!

No, it's the price. We get 8GB for $70 at broadband. That's ********, 25GB would be a godsend. :P

i get 50gb per month with my phone bill for free :D
not just in Austria mate, pretty much every modern government has HeadInArse syndrome and spends money in the wrong places.
