Anyone pumped for Covenant at War mod, 20th December 2012 release date. Awesome space battle mod for Star Wars Empire at War. Looks awesome right now. Also Sin of the prophets (sins of a solar empire) look awesome can't wait for that one either. Anyone else know of good halo mods that are still being supported?
Home front mod for HW2, which has inspired most of the other Halo mods that have been around (SotP for example).
Yea, I played that one for awhile. Pretty good. And Covenant at war came out. It's got really good in-game models.

i cant wait for Halo 4
Only a month left to wait.
Personally, I'm tired of making forge maps alone offline... Why isn't it possible to spawn covenant forces out of the spawn points you can make?
Say for instance, that you wanted a phantom to spawn somewhere in the air, at (x) time with (x) amount of covies.
I would actually love to see the A.I. play around in the various traps I made throughout the maps. Just for kicks! xD. Does anyone else agree? Idk, it's just something I've always thought about...
Because it would be completely impossible.
Care to explain? Elaborate maybe? Ya' know... Since I'm SO incredibly wrong. :/ Because that still isn't telling me why.
Halo relies on complicated and hand made path finding to allow the Covenant and marine units to move about, Bungie has stated on several occasions that because of this they can not allow people to use it in Forge.
I don't claim to have knowledge of Halo's source programming, nor do I feel the need to, thus, my informativeness isn't required on that matter. Naturally, it wouldn't matter how many times they "stated" it. In short, I was only speaking hypothetically.
However, that would make sense. The base path/routes they take could be programmed as map-specific, and copy/pasting these would be out of the question.
This shouldn't rule out the possibility of them hand-making routes for built-in Forge maps, should it?
I remember them saying it takes anywhere from days to weeks just to add the pathfinding to a mission.
That is... weird, days to weeks? is it done by hand or cpu? maybe halo 4 has something similar to cryengine 3 where it's easy real time fast and dynamic.
it would be good if you can command them as well like sending them in first to see if it is a ambush or trap
Yeah! :P
Then I could also see what would happen if a phantom hits a kill ball. xD
