Yeah.. I'm not buying it either, nobody just turns from evil to the core Sith to goodie two shoes admiral over night.
Maybe have him prove himself, place at the bottom of the ranks and have him work his way up. Plus it would help him re-adjust from being a high and mighty Sith sitting in his super secret space Citadel, to a humble GAR officer.

*Fighters returning from bombing escort duty intercept some of the enemy bombers and take some down in fireballs while more fighters are launched to reinforce. Frigates scramble into blockade formation and start spewing out flack and long range anti fighter fire(inaccurate but suppressive).
I send 2 Nebula class and 1 Scythe class to engage the frigate wall. The open fire and tear through the frigates with ease for this is what they are designed to do, obliterate small craft. But in the attack a Nebula is damaged and needs emergency repairs. After the attack they launch bombers from their current position into the flank of the enemy fleet and retreat back to formation and the split gap in my formation is closed.
Ships are swapped to recycle shields. Heaven's Gate focuses long range fire on smaller ships in the main enemy formation and eats away at them.
(Note most of my fleet is outside of effective arty range(accept those that are covering Heaven), only Heaven's Gate can fire on the enemy fleet)

Good thing the entire Silentium fleet can do that :P
The Silentium Forces retreat, they have fulfilled their mission.
nuu that's unfair, they can't all have as long range guns as Heaven, capital ships are special -_-

That is unfair, if the entire Silentium fleet could do that, then the galaxy is indeed lost.
Oke oke, I just assumed... Nevermind.
