What to do if Desura Crashes:
Desura has an automatic crash dump producing processes in it. If Desura crashes it will produce a dump in the Desura common application folder. The dump file contains the last things Desura did before the crash. These dumps are used by the developers to fix crashes and are automatically submitted (you can also turn this off in the settings menu).
If Desura keeps on crashing before login the best way to try and solve this is to force an update. In the start menu, goto the Desura folder and select the link Desura (force update). This will redownload the latest public release.
What to do if Desura Hangs:
If Desura hangs (becomes unresponsive or takes 100% cpu and does nothing) the best thing you can do is to send us a manual crash dump.
Go to the folder where Desura is installed (Default is C:\program files\Desura) and run the program dumpgen.exe. This will generate a dump of Desura and compress it and upload it to Desura servers for the developers to analyze.
You will have to kill Desura via Task manager (ctrl + shift + esc) after otherwise you wont be able to restart Desura.
What to do if an error occurred:
If Desura did something you didnt expect or didnt do something you expected the best way to let us know is via the forums.

help i tried installing cry of fear and it was validating the files but it said There was an error during the validation process and it has been stopped.: Failed to open the file 'C:\Program Files\Desura\Cache\mods\11147\\b2225_m1.mcf' [9.3] and i want to change the target to "E:\" so i need halp wit dis and i do own half life and mah e-mail is rolofunk@gmail.com
i just downloaded Erire and whenever i hit "Launch" nothing happens. Any ideas?

I've tried doing the force update and it keeps giving me the error after atempting login. Nothing is working and the forums arn't being responsive.

I have Desura, and have had it for nearly a year. Today when I tried downloading Half-Life 2:Wars mod for Half-Life 2, Desura began crashing. It continuously came with the message "An error has occurred that is preventing Desura from running correctly. Restarting Desura should allow you to continue, otherwise you can clean your Desura install by forcing an update." I have restarted and force updated. I even re-installed it. Now the only way to use Desura is to play Offline, but HL2:W never finished installing, so yeah.
When I try to login, it stands an error caused desura to not work, then it stands that I can either force and updtade or restart, but neither one of them is working, after uptade it still dosent work and I get the same message and restart dosent work either.
Try uninstalling it and then install desura again
Love Desure keep's me going on , had only one crash still trying to cover it happend since yesterday for the rest Desura is top!

playing ASA...great game, however, starting to get "Automation Error" when playing. My system is more
than enough to handle game......... Could it be a Windows Media Player problem? Does Adventure Maker
