Because thats the only way the republic could win. Take palpatine out of the equation and the republic would get owned as would be demonstrated in my next couple of images.
Well they were winning the war..the droid de activation took place after the war and I believe the Jedi killed General G and Jedi killed count dooku. Cannonical evidence is cannonical.
the only reason it happend that way is because palpatine made them lose, he wanted the republic to win the war so he could start his empire, palpatine was in control of everything
if the jedi didn't kill General Grievous Palpatine would've kept him
