This is a resin model that I recently acquired.
Is very delicately made.

Ah Resin, the worthless, overpriced material that is all the rage nowadays. It does allow some amazing details that aren't possible with either plastic or metal.
And such a worthless material made a beautiful model you see up there. I think we can agree on that it allows more space for details, thus the reason he chose resin.
Which is exactly what I said up there. The stuff is somewhat brittle, which for me as a TableTop player is quite a disadvantage.
Resin models are cheaper to produce than styrene models.
Resin can be bought cheap and then casted into the mold and the final product has the feel of a plastic model and is simpler to put together, styrene models are typically made with machines which is expensive and unsuitable for small-scale model producers. The cheapest way to create a styrene model seems to be vacuum-forming.
now I wonder if I should build the Kirov papercraft. :P
