Maybe Destiny is really Tiberium set 600 and so years after the disappearance of Kane?
It's funny that they just lazily re-used this from the Tiberium concept art.

Some of the images are "mock-ups" done by the ad agency rather than bungie. They were not meant for the public eyes.
Internal concept art like this is just meant for developers eyes and not for the general public, mainly to get a feel for what direction the art style might take.
Actually Bungie compares it to Star Wars.
Engine and asset wise Tiberium was continued,the engine and assets were reused in Dead Space series and it is developed by the same developers.
