It's a Remake of UBW, which was a movie made by another studio.

So yes in a way it was a Remake, but not of the FATE STAY NIGHT anime by Studio Deen.

Here is what Sakura will say though.

Much more is to come with Fate and the Nasuverse as a whole. Heaven's Feel will be a movie ye but does that mean it won't appear as a full series in the not so distant future? Well here is something to think about.

TYPE-MOON mainly contracts out it's non VN properties to other studios ((see UFOtable for example)) they provide said studios with source material and support but after that they have no creative control really. So where am I going with this? Well this may change, I won't go into detail about why Heaven's Feel wasn't made into a full series, but UBW was despite HF being far more in depth, and UBW being done before but there are things going on behind the scenes that most don't know about..

So the changes going on With TYPE-MOON Property?

Well lets just say some things are in the works, like what?
Oh well maybe more FATE and Tsukihime VNs, Maybe new IPs? Heck Maybe Tsukihime will get a decent small screen treatment!

Will Heaven's feel only be a movie only? Hmm well was UBW only a movie forever? Will there ever be an in house localization of the VNs and games for western Audiences? Oh I dunno..it's asked often but dreams may come true if enough people wish for things together.

I'll leave you with one more thought..

The industry, just like the Nasuverse is never what it seems, so expect many surprises.

O... ok, just to clarify, HF is supposed to be more than one movie, someone says at least 7/8, like Kara no Kyoukai.

Remake of Tsukihime? People wait for it since 2004...

UBW was made into a TV series because it's lighter than HF in terms of violence and gore, so the movie choice is the best choice. 8 HF movies with an average lenght of 90 minutes are a must for the best Fate's scenario.

That is not completely true..but true in the regards it is to dark for western Audiences. The Movie route was chosen because of the Studio's Prefrences, not due to content per say. Never assume stuff.

That being said read below.

UBW was made into a series again because it would be less controversial then HF for the Western Audiences, which means it would not have to be censored and wouldn't offend people as much. Plus Most western Audiences would Hate HF's Content due to it being very very dark. UFOtable also sees more money with UBW then HFs. UFOtable wanted to market to the Western market because frankly it''s a bigger one then Japan.

I really can't say what the plans are for Heaven's Feel or any other project in the works but it will get what it deserves eventually.

I guess most of us are "western audiences", maybe I am wrong but this is what I see...

In my humble opinion HF is the most complete and the darkest Fate's scenario. For this reason I thought this was the most logical choice to adapt it as theatrical movies. No need for censorship, no need to avoid the most cruel scenes.

Maybe. For what I can say, UBW is more "commercial" than HF, but HF can be a success too, if developed well.

I'm well aware of how the Industry works, trust me I am more aware of it then most. Of Course HF can be made sucessful, but at what cost? Does Type-Moon or whatever anime studio pander to the western audience and "change things" to make it more appealing? Or do they keep it true to the story to satisfy purists?

As I stated earlier this is why UBW works was made By UFOtable as a series, to not be controversial, and to have more of a mass appeal. While HF is a "movie" but it will get the treatment it needs regardless in the future.
