World Boxing Manager is a game in which you develop and manage the careers of young, hungry boxers desperate for glory. You scout and recruit fighters from a pool of amateurs who come to train at your gym - it's up to you to decide who to mold into championship material. Build their careers up in regional events until they are ready to make the leap onto the world stage and fight for world titles.

Hey all,

After two months of being in Greenlight, World Boxing Manager is released! You can download the game here:

Achievements have been implemented, and Trading Cards are in the approval pipeline now, so they should be in within a few days.

I've also released the game on itch.io and on the Humble Widget if you don't particularly like Steam or want to use it.

Feel free to let me know what you think! I'll be checking in all weekend for feedback and the like. Some tips for new players:

Use Marketing

The Marketing screen exists for two gameplay-related reasons:
a) To give you a reason to continue fighting in regional events even after your fighters have made it to the world stage. Events sanctioned by world organizations cannot be covered by a network hired on the Marketing screen.
b) To give you, the player, a way to earn money before your fighter has gotten good enough to headline events and command decent fight purses.

Use it as much as possible to farm money early game.

Watch your finances

Training outside of training camps is free, but once you have a match set up and start a training camp, training will cost money per day (except Resting). Keep an eye on your funds so you can take full advantage of Training Camps.

Watch your weight

Following on from the previous point, be sure to schedule enough time before a match to make weight, especially if your fighter has to cut a lot or is not great at cutting weight easily.

Spar often

There is no penalty for sparring, and you can unlock Natural Traits by doing so. This will allow you to both test your fighters (and students) against one another an potentially unlock useful Traits that can give you an extra edge.

Fight often

Only gains made in training outside of training camps is permanent. However, because training outside of training camps is primarily determined by your Equipment Upgrade levels, it's almost not really worth it to try and do so early in the game. Your time is best used fighting as much as possible to earn Network payouts in order to upgrade your Equipment as fast as possible.

That's all I can think of at the moment. Like I said, I'll be online all weekend to answer questions you might have, so please do let me know what you think! Thank you all for the support!
