That's a turn by turn game and it can be played online on a dedicaced server (i use the smartfox server technology). At this point of my project, you can create your character, enter in a room game, play online with 2 players in the room.
The game is a combat between wizards, you choose your spells in a deck and you choose the spell to cast on the enemy. You can also combine spells to creat new. Actually, there's 26 spells possible.

Smartfox x2 is an excellent solution for multiplayer game. Advantages are :
-complete as3 api
-free for 100 players
-classes for zone,rooms,login,database...
-low latency
-adobe flex admin panel
I have no time to develop a speciphic server and for me Smartfox is a very good all-in-one solution.
