Warriors and Tactics is a highly tactical turn-based battle arena game blending elements from hero shooters and tactical games. A rich, expansive combat system that rewards skilled play. Use careful positioning, wisely combine abilities and mix attacks to crush your enemies with an abundance of combat options. A wide variety of heroes and their unique abilities allow for many tactics and give you a myriad of ways to approach combat. Experience deep tactical gameplay that’s easy to learn, hard to master.
Action points play a very important role in any strategy game and that’s no different in Warriors and Tactics. Each turn you get 8 action points that you use to move your warriors around, attack enemies and use your warriors’ special abilities. Action points are shared so it’s totally up to you how you want to distribute them. Make sure you carefully choose a strategy for managing your action points because it plays a key role in winning.
All of your warriors can freely move around as long as you have action points available. Each character has a different movement speed that dictates how much action points they need to move a certain distance. Slower characters need more action points to traverse the same distance than a faster character. The movement speed is influenced by some of the status effects and can also be changed using some abilities.
Warrior placement is an incredibly important aspect of our game. We can’t stress out how important it is! To understand why let’s take a look at how attacking works in the game. First of all, there are two types of attacks: melee and ranged. Second of all, you cannot attack diagonally. That means that you can place your warrior in very close proximity to an enemy and still be sure that they won’t be able to attack you without spending their precious action points on moving. Does that mean there’s no way to counter that? Of course not! There are abilities that don’t require line of sight to the target or abilities that target areas. You can also place traps around such character or ignite the ground beneath them. There’s a myriad of ways to counter such move and we will talk more about them in the future.
You also have to keep in mind that some abilities can target multiple warriors as long as they are in a correct formation. What is more, using certain formations allows you to block some abilities. For example, if you place two characters next to each other then they can’t be a target of the charge attack. Choosing where should each warrior stand is extremely important and requires strategic thinking just like any other decision in the game.
