Step into a brutal battle between three warring factions. In Dawn of War III you will have no choice but to face your foes when a catastrophic weapon is found on the mysterious world of Acheron. With war raging and the planet under siege by the armies of greedy Ork warlord Gorgutz, ambitious Eldar seer Macha, and mighty Space Marine commander Gabriel Angelos, supremacy must ultimately be suspended for survival.
This is a tool to extract SGA archives (should work for most versions up to version 9, which is used in DoW3). It should be considered a beta tool for all intents and purposes; I have only tested it on a single archive, since I do not own the game. See the included ReadMe file for further information.
well thank you!
You're welcome! :)
thank you, any ideas on converting RGT Texture Files.
Have you tried Corsix' tools for DoW1? You could in theory set up a DoW1 mod, import the DoW3 RGTs and then try to edit them there. Alternatively, you could take a look at the tools shipping with CoH2, but I am not too familiar with them.
its not working
What file specifically are you having problems with? It works with all DoW3 SGA files I have tried.
the mpscenario file
or to be more specific the map files
The ScenariosMP.sga file extracts fine for, and so does that one random map's SGA that I downloaded from the workshop. What is the specific error that you are getting?
when I try to use to it works for about half a seconded then closes out. The problem my actually be I my not be using it correctly.
oh i forgot to mention when it seems like its going to work it then crashes for some reason.
You might not be used to command line programs. In this case, you can simply drag-and-drop the ScenariosMP.sga file onto the executable file. It will show up for a second, after that you should find a folder called 'ScenariosMP' in the directory where the ScenariosMP.sga file lives.
okay that did thanks
I'm sorry but how do you use this? I've used other SGA unpackers but the install and usage is barebones:
1. Installation:
YOU NEED .NET FRAMEWORK 4.0 TO USE THIS TOOL.
Place the included files in any folder of your choice.
Does that mean it needs to go in the SGA location?
2. Usage:
cc2sga.exe <sga_file> [destination]
If no destination is provided, a new folder with the name of the SGA archive will be created.
What does this mean?
Ok figured it out. In short right click on SGA file and select open with, then select the cc2sga.exe
Hi,
this is a command line tool. You have to either execute it from the console or (in this case) simply drag-and-drop an archive on to it.
Cope, I used your modding tool for DOW2 and it worked really well, so I hope and wonder whether you have plan to make such modding tool as you did for DOW2 retribution.
For this SGA tool you uploaded seems working well, but I could not modify actual files (RDG files).
I don't have plans for a full modding suite, no. This is mostly due to a lack of time on my end and the fact that I am not sure what Relic's stance on modding is. With CoH2 for example, modding is tightly locked down by Relic (which means: They support it, but you can only modify certain elements).
I'm getting a "cc2sga.exe is not a valid win32 application error". Anybody else had this? Got net framework installed so not sure what the problem could be.
That is weird. You should ensure that your .NET framework version is indeed 4.6.
doesnt work for me. When starting the .exe shortly a window pops up for like 0.5 second. Then nothing happens. .net framework on newest version.
It is a command line tool, so you either need to execute it from the console or (in this specific case) drag-and-drop and SGA onto it.
Is there a ways to add music to the map ?
I think that this is a question you should rather ask in the Steam workshop forums for DoW3: Steamcommunity.com

Thanks for the great tool! I was able to unpack sga files without any issues, but is there any suggestions for overriding original archive with loose files?
I've tried to use -dev commandline on launch properties, and have tried to tinker RelicGame.module file, but wasn't able to do so. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
