It's finnally here, Urban War Defense is now out on Steam early access.
I've worked really hard the last few months upgrading to the newest unity engine, adding new towers and enemies, adding fx and sounds and working on the UI enough to make me satisfied to move onto early access release!
There is of course much to do and there are a few features I have mentioned that I am working on bringing to the game and so expect many updates and changes to gameplay along the way, feedback on diffcult, balancing and well everything is much appreciated to let me know what you like and what you think could be added, changed, removed or improved.
Currently it's on Windows only as I need to test the Linux and Mac OS builds but they are uploaded and ready for me to to simply put them on public release.
Upgrading the game engine to a new version of unity and improving image effects plus model and texture quality.
Purchase Urban War Defense now to gain access to the alpha and have a try at the game early on Windows and soon available on Linux and Mac!
Urban War Defense is now available on Desura to pre-order, take advantage of the 20% off deal and gain access to the alpha when it is released.

Things are holding me back, along with the fact that I'm now changing many of the old stuff.
So Urban War Defense is going to look very different when I am done with this all, but it will be good!
I'm re doing a lot of stuff; Enemies, Towers, Environment models and adding animations!
And I am also making huge changes to the code and plan to have many new features, but one thing I'm looking forward to adding (And hoping works out) is destructible environments.
Tuesday, hopefully, an update at last.
Internet went down (Typical) but I've had time to add more content to the update.
Either done tonight or the weekend.
Is the game still active? In development? etc. You should start up another kickstarter, but make a devblog first! :)
Yup still alive, just busy sorting out things in my life as well.
That's a good idea I'll try that, I've got a few updates nearly done and I still have to do a few more things then I'm going to go ahead and post an article and I've saved some money to get it onto Steam Greenlight. :)
Sounds really cool. Tracking this! :) Any gameplay video's I could see? I want some full gameplay footage before I buy!
Going to get some more levels added to the alpha, based on beach assaults. Then I plan to work on adding the more features I've wanted to add.
I have no idea how to place towers, I can move the camera but that is all.
Click the green wrench at the bottom left, then place on green glowing rubble piles. Hope that helps :)
No it didn't lol. I have looked allover the screen on all the maps and tried all the resolutions and even put it on window mode and I cannot see a green wrench anywhere. I have the amount of waves etc at the top left of the screen but that's it. Tried this a few times yesterday and just tried it now and still nothing :(
I'll check it out, maybe I've gone and made a mistake somewhere, sorry about that.
I looked through the images to make sure I knew what I was looking for and to be honest they would be a little hard to miss if they did show lol. No probs, these things happen in Alpha :)
I checked it out and the wrench icon did disappear when I changed to graphic settings to "Fastest" (Lowest graphics) while on the highest resolution and the game even stopped responding, however after I restarted the game and tried it again the icon remained. So try changing the graphics settings or resolution if you still don't see it. I will make the Icon and placement tiles more obvious next update but I may actually make it possible to place towers anywhere.
Tried it on every performance possible and every resolution and combinations and still nothing :(
What OS are you running it on?
Windows 7 64 bit
I just tested it on Windows 8 64bit and it was as you described, So I'm going to go ahead and try fixing that asap.
It seems it only works correctly on 32-bit for now.
Thank you, in a way I am glad it happened to me so I could bring it to your attention before others get affected with it :)
Just sent an update which hopefully fixed the problem, just gotta wait for the approval.
The wrench icon is now on my screen... thank you :)
