Tiberian Sun: Reborn brings the exciting storyline and epic clashes from the classic Westwood Studios game, Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun to realm of first person shooters, with a twist. We've remained loyal to the style and feel of the 1999 classic, while integrating content from its expansion Firestorm with a bit of updated history to add to the mix. Built off the W3D engine Westwood Studios built for classics such as Earth & Beyond and Command & Conquer: Renegade finished up in 2001, we help bring the fight to you as you play out your role as any one of a number of infantry classes participating in team-based combat that often involves land, sea, and air combined-arms clashes that just don't happen in any other game. Oh, and did we mention it's FREE?

Mod Administration
After getting a hold of everyone on the team, I now have a good feel for what everyone is doing, as well as what everyone is capable of.

During the last week or so, I have been organizing over 5 gigs of files on the FTP, moving the FTP server to a more secure location with backups, as well as sorting out the web-site to make it more manageable.

Website
As some of you know, I mentioned that I hoped to get rid of those "Image Coming Soon" images in the unit, vehicle, and building descriptions. After actually finding out what is going on, I will be posting up a central media page, and reworking the "about" section to be more like a game guide, explaining each unit, and what it will be capable of in the mod.

As well as cleaning up quite a bit, we will be moving our hosting off of gamespy, due to one, the ads that are annoying, as well as the tracker cookies that are being used.

When the site does move, we will be implementing a new forum, but... don't worry, we won't lose any users or posts, we just need to get off of this version of phpBB due to the issues with it.

Mod Progression
Now that we are getting a bit more organized and focused, we are finally getting some more progress. Our level designers are working levels, such as C&C Under that is almost complete. Spice is finishing up animating the new & improved MK II that just got a new texture from Renardin (images coming soon).

Titan is going through all of the presets trying to get them fixed up, and we are going to start tackling the initial large list of bugs from our last internal alpha.

Mod Direction
Before, it was announced that the mod would be only released when it was "finished", well, thats a vague term. In software development, nothing is ever "finished", it is releaseable and stable, but never finished, there is always a bug to fix, refactoring to happen, as well as updates and new features to implement.

We have decided that once we finalize a list of preliminary features, we will be releasing a public beta. With this beta we will be using the community to help us track down issues, as well as balance problems, all the while, we will be working on the newest features.

One thing that I want to make clear, we aren't releasing a beta to just give you something, instead, we are handing out this release to get the mod out there, get you, the fans, something to play, as well as hype up our bug tracking to the Nth degree. This will also help us focus our attention on critical issues and content updates, as we can then find out from the community what is the next move, instead of just trying to do it all at once.

I hope I didn't get too long winded, as I sometimes do, but I did promise to let the community know what was going on, and to be honest, I didn't expect the amount of content to go through when I said that.

Now though, we are getting back on track, and I will be posing semi-regular updates about the progress of the first open beta.
