Tortal! Windows game

Tortal! is a new kind of indie game; it's two fangames in one. Combining two best-selling games in one, it features every good aspect from each game; the portal gun from Portal; cyborgized koopas that combine both Mario and Portal; Chell and Companion Cube; Bowser; Everything you could imagine. It's hard to describe with words - we've got achievements, a full-blown level editor, a customizable theme engine, hundreds of secrets and side goals, splendid soundtrack and two of the most loved concepts put in one. Not only that, the game has multiplayer cooperative mode, the full campaign played by you and your friends! Imagine all this; there you have it: TORTAL!

Tortal! Development Team - which is assembled with numerous scripters, spriters, levelmakers and people just like you - is fully powered by the community. We have a wiki anyone can edit to have their own information (although heavily moderated in case of vandalism), levels are submitted by normal testers and nothing is left un-noticed by us; we have a blog, we have a forum, we have a website. We've done everything to keep the community together to create one of the most biggest concepts ever - and this time, it's not just a concept. It's a game!

Tortal! is MADE to be modified. Make your own levels, or use the TTE (Tortalized Theme Engine) to make your own GUI for the game, customizing the main menu, in-game HUD and achievement icons all to your liking. It doesn't stop there. The game loads any sprite inside the level editor, allowing you to design your own enemies to face off against Mario. Or is it Mario anymore? You can modify the main character as well! Soundtrack is changeable. The news ticker can display your news. Everything. Controlled. By. You.

With the launch of our new ModDB profile, we will gather our team members into one group inside. You are invited! Download latest beta versions, upload your own screenshots and videos into our own ModDB profile, submit articles about it, review it, comment it, play it, love it. We will do anything to keep the game fun; and the community around it as well, obviously! Tortal! Development Team is YOU.
