Hey guys, this is another fine update for Doom: Lucions Undoing. We've got many things to detail and cover. First of first is Windows Vista development, followed by another Engine update and finally, thats it :P
Lets start things off by saying we've begun development for Windows Vista, which will be backwards compatible with XP. In perspective, it's much easier to code this way as Vista was built to be backwards compatible with Windows XP. You can take a look at our front page on our site for more information on that subject.
Second, of all... We've optimized the Lighting engine to look proper with the bump mapping in sauerbraten. We have a little picture to show you for that optimization. Please note the quality of the image isn't the greatest as I cut the image size down by optimizing it. Hope you like the preview of our new player model as well ;)
Enjoy! *Salute*
i am looking forward to this but one thing that confuses me, and please dnt take this as a flame but is there any reason in particular you are using a minor 3rd party engine that has v low poly counts etc instead of say the doom3 engine for source? i'm not having a go i'm just curious :D keep up the great work
That Doom Marine looks less like the genuine article and more like Master Chief after he let himself go. :/
Great looking model for its tri count . :)
3rd party engine is fine.. but why such low poly?
speed?
