This game follows the story of what happens after the John Carpenter 1982 movie adaptation of the John W. Campbell JR Novel "Who Goes There?". The original game borrows heavily on the story from the 2002 video game and the current sequel expands further on the plot after Captain Blake defeats the Thing entity. After the death of Whitley and the destruction of Gen Inc property; Captain J.F.Blake boards a rescue plane and leaves Antarctica. Complications arise and the aircraft malfunctions and crashes. With no report from Blake the Alaska base sends in a new rescue team of which you the player take control. Your task is to find Captain Blake and escort him back to Alaska. However the thing entity did not die with Whitley on that day...

The crew aboard the Leviathan found someThing in the ice. They dug it up and brought it back onto their ship... It thawed out and woke up, probably not in the best of moods! Coming in the v2 update/expansion of the Thing 2 RPG is a brand new Campaign set on that Ship. It features fully voiced characters (Although you may disable this feature if you wish) and like Mac's story it features artistic scenes of the characters as a change from sprites reminiscent of a visual novel style.

Irvin (Voiced by Stephen Farbman) leaves Natalie (Voiced by Julia Steincross) in a storage room on her own while he goes to figure out what is going on aboard the ship. Hours later when he doesn't return Natalie has to venture out and piece together what is going on. You can see a youtube preview of part of the upcoming campaign here:
