This is a banal replacement for the game's soundtrack, both the original game and its two official expansions. I tried to select music that does not spoil the atmosphere of the original as much as possible - of course this is a subjective matter. And I want to share my selection with you who still remember and love The Settlers: Heritage of Kings.
Replacing the music of the entire musical accompaniment of the game.
Years go by, and no one gets younger. Only love grows stronger - but even love needs new experiences.
I absolutely love "The Settlers - Heritage of Kings" soundtrack, and I don't underestimate the work of the talented composer of this game, Michael Pummel. I spent hours building a new castle, forming an army, conquering and liberating new lands for new castles. All this time I had the Michael Pummel soundtrack with me, and no matter how good it was, it became annoying ... And the thought came to me, "Is it possible to replace the music?".
Replacing the music from "The Lord of the Rings" or "The Witcher" was interesting, but it is too associated with its original sources and it is better to keep it off.
The idea of replacing music with well-known indie musicians in narrow circles was interesting, and the result, in my opinion, turned out to be good. I tried to select compositions that would not stand out from the general atmosphere of the game, and I think that I got 80% of it.
Installation:
Replace the downloaded files in the folder using the following paths:
New_Soundtrack_for_Heritage_of_Kings&Legends — :\The Settlers - Heritage of Kings\base\shr\music
New_Soundtrack_for_The_Saga_of_the_Mists — :\The Settlers - Heritage of Kings\extra1\shr\music
If the location of the folders is different in your version of the game, just find the "Music" folder with mp3 files named as in the folders that you download.
Soundtrack replacement is possible for both "The Settlers: Heritage of Kings - GOLD EDITION" English and Russian editions from "NOVY DISK" 2005 as well as for "The Settlers: Heritage of Kings - History Edition" - edition 2018.
