The Swarm have returned with myriad new researches, from damage type changes and speed bonuses to spell unlockers and psyche resistance buffs.
Finally going to be a great faction to play with, just like Plaguelords (TPC version only) is.

And maybe someday we could shift in real time the damage type between original and researched? Could also be their unique race trait.
