The Path is a short horror game inspired by older versions of Little Red Riding Hood, set in the modern day. The Path offers an atmospheric experience of exploration, discovery and introspection through a unique form of gameplay, designed to immerse you deeply into its dark themes.
This is not a classic video game, so anyone who rates this according to a pc game's criteria would act not fair. I wouldnt say its a funny game. It is an interactive fairy tale movie.
This is a telling of a fairy tale in a new way, new style and definitve not for children.
Their nuances of the different characters that you learn through their interactions with the world.
You learn these things if you only(!) have the patience to really play this through. It shows that you have to leave the path to succeed in this game, but that success is only so you can learn that one is best suited to the path.
They are shock stories meant to keep the girls "on the path" and this is exactly what this game has come to do.
Keep in mind that it is more like an rather slow interactive movie. The replayability is high, there are different ways to go for each girl.
Graphics: 7 (atmospheric, but old enigine, physics is´nt correct sometimes)
Sound: 8 (great music, but no voice acting)
Atmosphere: 10 (unique, great, charming, believeable)
Controls: 7 (work, feel a little bit indirect, the girls move slow)
Story: 8 (its not a real story, its more sandboxy, but the great atmo makes it right as rain for me)
- camera (if you run the camera zooms to mucj out for my taste)
- sometimes you walk through trees an so on
- more polishing would have helped and users will recognize this (not much)
