When you worked on the editor - perhaps you know where the player position is stored? I went of the map in a blizzard and im stuck. I thought i could edit myself out.

Well actually it's already there. It will be improved later, but currently you can set you player's y and x coordinates.
How do I add new items to my inventory?
You can't add items yet. I'll add the feature when I have some time, probably next week.

Read file -> Decrypt -> Deserialize with Json.NET

How did you decrypt? I used your tool and now my save won't load; I think it's because the region drop-down menu in the player tab is blank instead of saying the name of the building I was in. Alternatively, is there any way I can change it manually?
If save button is grayed out, and you didn't see any errors, then the editor couldn't find your save from the default location. You can set it manually by clicking open. The save should be in \Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Hinterland\The Long Dark\save001
If save button is not grayed out and you can't select region, you can send me pm and I can take a look at your save.

Your save is from older TLD version, try to load the save in TLD and save it again and everything should work again.
When I go to save the file after I'm done editing, the program always crashes and doesn't save. Could it be me trying to use a Mac save on the program? I'm running the program on Windows 7 but using my Mac save. I haven't tried it with my Windows save because I can't run the game on my Windows PC. Any help would be great. Thanks :)
You need to have user001 file in the parent directory of save001 directory .
Works great, only complaint is that you are missing wool underwear, and the conversion to imperial units.

I might make imperial conversion if I have time, but currently I am working on a map where you can set your position and possibly add animals and stuff like that.

When i save an edited save, The Long Dark deletes the save, is that an anti-cheat
precaution? Because if it is then it makes this program kinda useless.

It's definitely not an anti-cheat precaution.
Tried today, downloaded a new editor and it worked, but i'll keep it in mind just in case it happens again, and thanks for getting in touch so fast on it. Whats also interesting is that this program doesn't restrain me from getting achievements or getting me on the leader boards, just saying.
I didn't see any point in blocking achievements, but you actually shouldn't get to leaderboards even though it doesn't show the message about it when you load your save.

I can fix the issue by taking out one of my two saves, though you state the editor supports multiple saves.
Hmm... I'll check it out. One of your saves might be from the older version of the game and that could be causing problems.
I released r13, it won't fix the error, but the editor shouldn't crash after it anymore.
I played the older one to bring it up to the current version when it came out, but maybe it didn't save. Anyways, I'll say that your speedy replies and what seems to be frequent updates are awesome. Keep it up.

Yes it does. The editor does not make new saves, it only edits existing ones. The editor opens save001 automatically at start (if it's found)

If save button is not clickable, then the editor did not find your save location and you have to manually select it by clicking open and selecting the right folder.
This is an excellent app, a life saver! I only use it to remove the stupid and unrealistic deterioration of matches.

I'm sure I will at least make it compatible with new versions of tld. You should check out UMod, you can repair items by selecting them in inventory (in-game) and pressing 0. Moddb.com

Please god I need the new update. My friend fired all of my bullets and then saved.
New version is ready, but I can't add or edit my downloads (only for tld) for some reason. Maybe Hinterland decided to disable downloads because they are against modding and stuff like that.
Is there an external download thing you could use for now or something? At least until your downloads are fixed?
I'm pretty sure that they will not be fixed, Hinterland does not allow talking about modding on reddit, forums or steam discussions. They don't even allow talking about sound files that can be found in the game folders. Here's a dropbox link until I can figure something out.
