Slingshot and wooden shield... kind of look terrible, the rest looks ok, not great.
The slingshot looks to think and short, the shield is just a shield with a random wood texture chucked upon it.
Ahh ok ? You cant see the relation of the Weapons ingame to what i showed here. This are static meshes and i can make them bigger smaller whatever i want. And the shields are great from behind. This will be also seen in the update today. Also the Hylia Shield is a 1 to 1 replica to the original. What the hell does not look great ??? The Wooden shield looks like this too. Did you ever play Ocarina of Time ?

Man, the slingshot is doing my head in. The wood grain is running the wrong way, the mesh is ridiculously low detail, there is no normal mapping, the hand grip texture has no logical application. It has been burning into my skull all day so here is my after-work attempt: Img849.imageshack.us
You're on the fantastic Unreal 3 engine! Use its features! If you're going to replicate the old meshes precisely, you might as well rip them straight from the game, and then you might as well just play OoT on an emulator. Keep going with this game, it's got promise and I'm sure you'll get loads of kudos if you complete it, but encourage your artists to use the full extent of the engine, please!
