The Dungeoning Windows, Mac, Linux game

WHAT IS THIS
The Dungeoning is a mix of things, it's a difficult action game and a platformer with a bit of RPG and Rogue mixed in. It's inspired by Dark Souls and 16 bit platform games. If you die in The Dungeoning, you die in real life. No, wait, if you die you lose everything and start again in a new world.

PLATFORMS?
PC / MAC / Unix (later if I can get it working!)

IT'S AN RPG?
You can level up your players various stats to improve strength, stamina, defence and magic. Killing enemies increases the players experience, which can be spent however you like.

WEAPONS?
There are many varieties of weapons to collect and master through the game - Swords, Bows, Catapults, and magic weapons. Also there are shields.

SOMEONE MENTIONED ITEMS?
You'll need to gather resources as you play if you have any chance of surviving. These range from things that heal and replenish magic power, to berries with specific healing effects, for instance a water berry would be a great thing to eat if you were on fire.

IT WOULD BE COOL IF THERE WAS JEWELLERY OR SOMETHING.
There is! There are many rings to find that will help you survive. Some light your way, some protect you from fire, some make you sneaky. There's a lot of them but you can only wear two at a time.

THIS ISN'T A ROGUELIKE
I know, but it has some elements commonly associated with Roguelike games, such as procedural level generation, magic, weapons, stats, high difficulty and permadeath. Roguelike is a convenient term for these things!

WHO MADE THIS
@nickd3000 - This is my first attempt at making a game solo, and the first game I've programmed myself. I'm doing the design, art, code and music. Wish me luck.
I have made other games in partnership with @physmotone (Mos Speedrun, Lineable, and Ghostracer - all iPhone, in which I did the design and art).

WHEN IS IT OUT?
I'm getting close to finishing this but I don't know exactly when.
I hope to have a paid alpha version of the full game on Desura soon, for folks who want early (cheaper) access to the game or are curious to see it. Also it will help support my Greenlight campaign when it comes to it

MISC
I'm programming this in Java / Open GL using Eclipse as the IDE
For graphics I'm Using Photoshop and Graphics Gale for animation.
For music I'm using GarageBand on iPhone (!)
For sound editing I'm using Audacity.
