As an archaeologist working on the slopes of a dormant volcano somewhere in Mexico, 1940, you get stuck in a cavern. It doesn't take long before you realize this is more than just a cave. You reveal ancient ruins that have been hidden from outsiders for centuries and discover a mysterious artifact, a gold and metal shelled Ball. As you venture deeper into the volcano, you reveal some of mankind’s greatest secrets…

In our continuing quest of updating and polishing The Ball and lifting it up to the next quality level, we have reworked all of our buttons. There are hundreds of buttons throughout the game, so such an important asset was definitely in need of some polish! Markus Palviainen has redone the buttons entirely and they look so much better now! Below you can see screenshots of how the new buttons look compared to the old ones

In other news, Markus Palviainen, our Lead Artist, has just begun working full-time on The Ball! This will further speed up our development in this decisive last phase. The aim is to enter Beta on May 1, so we have about a month left until then. We are also going to start with some focus tests around mid April. The aim is to find out what parts of our game are frustrating or difficult to understand, and fix those. The game has to be as smooth and as polished as possible!

We have also just begun the Localization process. Work is underway on translating The Ball to Spanish, French, Italian, and German, and soon work will also begin on the Dutch and Swedish translations.

Communication problem within the team, two people thought they had to take care of the pending newspost and they both posted it... We deleted the first one now.

Well at least your team works double-time. That's good.

I'm kinda at loss with The Ball. Whenever I tried it I liked its ambience, but I never felt to keen about the gameplay. Maybe the reason is that I feel like I'm slave to the metal ball, instead of being its true master. However, the quality of this mod - now indie development - is amazing!

I think that if you would give it some more time, you would find out that after you have had more experience with the ball and how it controls you would really feel like its master :) We have also made quite a few improvements to how the ball controls, so you should try out the final version when it comes out.
