SurviveRL (working title) is NOT another survival first person game. Read on please.
It is a concept where the world persists around the player. Actions have cause and effect. Killing an enemy, helping a creature can generate an outcome much later in the game.
Multiplayer and modding support are part of the building blocks to the code, making for replayability and extensibility.
There will be a single player campaign/story mode also.
The project members have never stopped on this. We spent a large amount of time reconsidering the goal of the codebase, and whether we can do anything better visually.
The result has been a rework of the terrain engine over the last year, as well as some other code rewrite that we can talk about in another post.
Survival games are definitely interesting, and we think we can do something based on some type of survival, that will be exciting to play.
Keep watching this please, we will make some announcements in the near future.
Current development status for SurviveRL, with information on multiplayer and terrain progress.
First, apologies for not uploading a screenshot each day, as was in the past. That should be back soon :) This week, had me integrating multiplayer support...
We would like as many comments as possible with feature wishes we should add to the upcoming alpha release.
You should make it so that you can craft/make walls to put around places you want safe.
Nice idea. We already have a crafting function in the code, that we are looking over. You can see parts of it in one of the screenshots.
Walls are good to have.
will there be forms of transport?
Pet horses are going to be in.
Depending on what people want, we can add in other ways too.
Well sounds like you've got an awesome game going on here, i'll definitely be keeping an eye on this project
Thanks!
is the alpha testing going to be open, or is there some place i need to go to sign up in hopes of getting in?
Open. More details on that soon we hope.
i have a tip for the future updates, make it a free game ;) other than that id need to play it to really know what else it needs
Thanks Andy.
We still havent decided about charging for the game, and if so, how much it should cost. There are lots of free-to-play games with donations etc or in game purchases.
We're looking at all options at the moment.
And, it would be great later on if you played the game and told us what you would like to see in it too!
