Steamalot is a medieval steampunk tactical trading card game. As a player you build a deck, and play characters onto a battlefield. Then those characters maneuver around the field in turn based combat. The card library includes equipment and skill cards that modify characters in combat.
Steamalot: Epoch's Journey is set in the medieval period where the development of steampunk technology has begun earlier than the traditional Victorian setting indicates. Instead of magic the populous is amazed with new intricate clockwork and steam technology. Merlin is a gifted engineer and friend to the King. Patric (the player) is Merlin's apprentice who must help him determine the root cause behind rising disturbances in the kingdom.
The art style of the game combines a pixel art battlefield and sprites juxtaposed with cell shaded card art. This juxtaposition of styles is an allusion to the contrast in box art and game play graphics of old school games. The dichotomous nature of the game is bolstered again in the similar combination of medieval and steampunk genres. Steamalot is being developed without the use of a kickstarter campaign and will be ready in early 2014. The game is being released in tiers starting with single player and then opening up to private PvP and finally public PvP with card trading.
PC and MAC versions of the game are one time purchases and users use earned in-game currency for cards. No FtP after the initial purchase, just one price.

Playing this on iOS and PC. It is a great game. Fun story, good visuals and interesting and challenging strategies. The PVP is supposed to come out soon. I can't wait to try it against real people.
