StarDrive is a 4X Action-Strategy game where the goal is to build a space empire. Starting with a single planet and a small number of space-worthy vessels, you forge out into the galaxy, exploring new worlds, building new colonies, and discovering the StarDrive universe. The heart of StarDrive is its ship design and combat engine. StarDrive takes a module-based approach to ship design, allowing the player to create custom ship designs where the composition and placement of ship modules really matters to the performance of a ship in combat. In combat, if your portside armor is taking a beating, then rotate around and show them the starboard side! Hide behind a friendly capital ship's shields, warp into and out of the fray, launch fighters, lay mines, and so much more.

Hello, I just bought the Stardrive alpha and i'm having a major issue. The game starts up, goes to the main menu and play the title song, but it doesn't respond to mouse clicks, i effectively am unable to start playing the game i just bought. I tried launching it outside desura and nothing works. Is this a known bug? Is there any workaround? I'm playing on a toshiba laptop, with a 2.5 ghz dual core processor, mobility radeon hd3650 graphics card and 4gb of ram. Ok, i used the "setting resolution on config file" workaround to get it to run, but as soon as i start a game it immediately bogs down to a stable 11 fps. Is there any way to increase performance? |

I'm having the same problem on my laptop too. I'm on a 2.1 Ghz processor with ATI MR HD 4250 graphics card and 4gb of ram. It get about 9 fps on this game. |

I am having the performance problem, but not the responsiveness one. Except the performance is worse for me. 3FPS at best |

A lot of these problems are already explained on the main page through the comments. If at start up it does not respond to any buttons, change the config file in your desura directory to the correct resolution and put it into full screen mode by changing the 0 to a 1 if you really have too. As for the low performance while playing the game, this comes from the .57 patch. The developer already fixed this and the fix will be implimented in patch .58, god knows when that will come out. Be patient for the patch, and then hopefully the best will turn out. |
