An unfinished game that begged to be completed.

The version released by Taldren lacked refinement, but not focus. The expansive plan for this game was restrictive for various reasons that eventually involved legal repercussions and it never was finished; time wasn't on their side for what they endeavored to create. What we got, was a real-time naval-based tactical game with obvious limitations as a result, but it was still fun to play. Taldren, did provide several beta patches to correct coding issues while they could and a Nemesis mission expansion prior to it being removed from store shelves. These improvements fixed some of the more notable lag and bugs (Borg Cubes crashing into each other) while also expanding the narrative universe within the game.

Modding, is what has kept this game alive for the small number of enthusiasts who enjoy this SFC title. Taldren, left a lot of the UI and game files available for fans to expand and create their own enhancements. No doubt, if fruition could have been allowed to continue, this game would have seen several additional titles and versions. For what it could have been and what it is, it is still an enjoyable, if not sometimes frustrating game to mod. 6/10
