KDF C-9 “Warblood” (ghob ‘lw) class Battleship
Designed by Raven Night

In 2360 a new battleship was commissioned to replace the aging C-7 and early Vorcha mainframes. A testbed was designed, the C-9, to space test the new components
for what would be commissioned as the C-10 Negh'var class battleship. That test ship was reactivated when a new design was needed for the return of the Emperor.
The resulting redesign, designated as the C-9A was so successful that in the year 2376 the KHC decided in a heated session to replace all of the Mark 1 C-8 Vorcha mainframes with a standard version of the C-9. A commission was placed for two testbeds, one equipped with the STN3200 standard warp nacelle originally designed for the Vorcha, and the STN3600, the base testbed for the Neghvar and the engines chosen for the Kahless tlq vo’ sep ship. After extensive testing of both mainframes the results prompted the KHC to accept the latter vessel into standard service. Hence the C-9 “ghob ‘lw”, or Warblood was born.
This vessel is the second most advanced ship ever fielded by the Klingon Empire. It boasts a dynamic shielding system, adaptive cloak, advanced reactive armor plating, and organic power and information transfer systems. Although it is not as heavily shielded as the C-10, it is faster and more maneuverable with an equal weaponry loadout. It is equipped with fore and aft fast load torp launchers, 2 forward long range heavy disruptor cannons, 2 fore and 2 aft long range disruptor emitters, 4 quick charge medium range disruptor cannons, and finally 8 pulse disruptors ventral and dorsal, 4 each for close defense.
For vessel area defense, the ship carries 2 heavy fighters in the rear dorsal bay, plus 4 light fighters in the aft ventral bay. 6 small shuttles are contained in the ventral forward bay. The aft bay also has the two drop ships on board. This ship lacks the special “sensor cloak” equipped on the Heart of Kahless version, but does have series 9b armor plating like the Neghvar with sensor damping properties.
The ship is reported to be in the same class range as the Neghvar, though classified as a battleship due to its lighter shielding and armor. The vessel is, however, superior to the Neghvar in maneuverability and speed at impulse, though not as nimble as a Vorcha class in comparison.
