In 1986, the world's worst nuclear disaster occurred at the Chernobyl power station. Soviet authorities established a 30km 'Exclusion Zone' around this nuclear wasteland, but in 2006 a second explosion rocked the stricken reactor, obliterating all living things and causing the Zone's boundaries to ripple outwards. From this epicenter came waves of mutated creatures, deadly radiation, and a strange, anomalous energy. The Zone was cordoned off by the military, who would shoot on sight anyone foolish enough to brave the horrors within.

A new utility to make mod installation simpler and cleaner is being demonstrated on Steam Greenlight. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Mod Player lets you install and play mods for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series games. Since there's less hassle to cleanly add and remove mods, you can freely try out new mods with no trouble.

The system is shown powered by Steam Workshop. You can check out the Greenlight page here.

It's sounds okay but I can't see how it helps, Adding mods to the Stalker games is a lot easier than any other game I can think of and I can't see how it's gonna be any less work getting this system set up with your mods than it is adding them to the game. Plus how much space are you gonna need to have all the mods set up in something like this, That's gonna be an issue for a lot of people aswell.

This is only one person's opinion though,
If it turns up I'll certainly try it as I have room and tend to keep loads of gamedata's in the game ready to use anyway.

This is kinda annoying, I know its hard to install mods, but doing it the manual way is the surefire way to make sure its Done correct and you learn about the mod and file structure etc etc while doing it

Automating the process just cancels out the learning of the process.

Something I have seen, to run different versions, but the interest to present will be the availability of a translation of this tool, and for those who understand the installing mods, no difficulty in changing the name of the folder gamedata in the name of fashion, for installation at a later modification. I hope clear, since English is not good).
