In 1986, the world's worst nuclear disaster occurred at the Chernobyl power station. Soviet authorities established a 30km 'Exclusion Zone' around this nuclear wasteland, but in 2006 a second explosion rocked the stricken reactor, obliterating all living things and causing the Zone's boundaries to ripple outwards. From this epicenter came waves of mutated creatures, deadly radiation, and a strange, anomalous energy. The Zone was cordoned off by the military, who would shoot on sight anyone foolish enough to brave the horrors within.
This is a quick and easy fix for the minimap cover that appears when the player under certain circumstances. This is completely save-game compatible and for both non-widescreen and widescreen, all versions (vanilla/mod-mergeable and OGSE). It basically adds a line to _g.script checking the field of view (fov), and modifies ui_cop_pda.script to check that this condition is not met. If it is not met, the cover disappears. Before, the cover wasn't disappearing when zooming in with scoped weapons or the binoculars. The fov should be set so that the cover doesn't disappear when aiming down iron sights (while the minimap is still visible).
