Space Ranger ASK already features a lot of cool effects, but we thought it could use a little more.. So we decided to add some new sweet Arcade effects!
You'll experience the FX ingame when you:
- Shoot Asteroids
- Shoot UFO's and UFO Bosses
- Take Damage
- Grab the Power-Ups
- Pick up Coins and Specials
- Pick up Spacemen
- Drop off Spacemen at the Base

The effects use very little cpu, so they will be available for all platforms (Windows, Win8 App, iOS and Android) in the upcoming update. And if you dislike the effects, you can switch them off in the game options! =)

Brilliant software this. Never done any sort of design or programming before so I'm finding the process interesting and absorbing. The editor looked daunting at first, but was able to figure it out with experimental clicking! Had a basic test game running in 30 minutes. Congrats also to the music composer. Some beautifully arranged tracks of techno dudeness here which sound amazing over headphones. Overall, there's a lot for the money, and I hope to see even more design choices added in future.

why is this allowed on desurs... blatent copy right infringment
Copyright infringement of what exactly? If you are talking about the Cinemaware game Space Rangers (plural) then you are wrong. As far as creating space shooters, I am pretty sure that this one is the first since the Shoot em Up Construction Kit on the Amiga.
Anyhow the game is fun, but, I wish that users could import their own ship graphics and backgrounds. I'm a graphic artist and modeler. Also, will there be a future possibly to create vertical scrollers like Aero Fighters and horizotals like R-Type? As it stands, while excellent, this game is basically a mashup of Asteroids and Time Pilot. Nice beginning and I'm having fun, but, if you could develop this a bit more, it would sell for three times what you asking.
hey VladVoivode! First off, I'm really happy to hear you like our game!
We do have plans to implement support for sidescrolling shooters, along with a bunch of other cool features that allows for even more flexible game designs. The existing features already allows for some pretty complex designs though, like tower defense and puzzle type games, and we're constantly working to improve it.
We wanted to let the users import their own artwork too, but there are certain technical issues which make it a bit difficult, like the Mission sharing and compatibility across platforms. But we will try to find a solution for this. For now, we'd be more than happy to integrate your graphics into future releases of the game, so i'll contact you with the details =)

Hmm. Can't get the Desura download to work, for the Full version or the Full Exe. Any advice? Thanks :D
If you had the demo installed, uninstall it. I just tested out with a promo key. looks iike the desura installer is incapable to distinguish between the 2. You can also try the full exe installer
