Greetings,
Its been a while since the last development blog but i have been hard at work on space corp tycoon and it is starting to take more of a shape with every update.
Here are some screenshots of progress so far,

Some Important News detailing the recent changes in development and a few other things :D
Development slowed down due to Lack of Funding for the game on the crowdfunding sites, But do not fear for it is continuing, i added the first screen...
This is an alpha version 0.8a of space corp tycoon, This is still unfinished and very much a work in progress.
An Updated Concept Demo - With More of the Final Features and a test for combat
This is a Demonstration of the UI Concept - Which will Be Undergoing Changes Due to Potential Player Feedback. *Note* Esc open options menu also Has bugs
Alright, first of the bat, this is an obviously interesting game concept. Awesome as matter of fact as I've been working on projects and concepts along the same lines in demo builds occasionally.
Biggest issue I'm already going to bring up is that you don't appear to have an accurate sense of galactic scale. Normally not a problem in the light Sci-Fi, but in Simulation, more accuracy is always better and this is a particularly glaring issue.
You have mistaken galaxies for star systems. The Milky Way is not just home to our system, but uncountable BILLIONS of star systems. A Corporation that hasn't even got a moon colony as of yet would have no way what so ever be prepared to make a leap over to another galaxy. You should reconsider your system, and have things sorted by star systems rather than entire galaxies.
Secondarily, the least of my two concerns is the depth here though that's easily forgiven as the project is simply starting up.
I'd be willing to offer my help with this game for absolutely free, if you want. Obviously, you've got a hang of things yourself based on your work thus far, but if you are in need of any game play, design or actual scientific knowledge, send me a message.
if you want credentials for my own expertise, I'll link this screenshot to a project much alike this game I made a while ago as a demo build.

So accurate! I 100% agree :D
This is the exact reason i decided to make development public from the start, Feedback is everything. Fans make the game xD
not used to the karma system here, accidently hit the - instead of the + :(
anyway, i have a sense of galactic scale in real scale terms, But due to not having a maps i thought it not important (but things can still be changed) i went with galaxies and not star system to begin with because i am going for alot of planet, but i may just add star systems now as a way of helping sort etc.
Also you said
"A Corporation that hasn't even got a moon colony as of yet would have no way what so ever be prepared to make a leap over to another galaxy."
The plan here is you can scout visit known places, and can only colonize once they have been scouted, You can only Unlock the trip to other galaxies through reaching certain milestones (not been added yet)
as for the depth, the plan is to add combat and planetary exploration too but that takes artwork.
All is Subject to change though.
I find the scale to be perfect, our solar system only has 8 planets so I think that sorting by star systems would be too find. You could split it into "sectors" of a few light years each, which would provide a nice balance.
