Signal to Noise is a music-driven rail shooter, heavily inspired by classic games such as Tempest 2000, Starfox, and Rez (among others). The player selects their own music from their personal library, or even live music, the game analyzes that music in realtime, then generates the gameplay based off the music.

This is a game meant to remind players why they love video games. The entire design is based around having memorable "moments" that stick with players after they're done playing with their favorite music.

Hi all,

This is David from Solanimus, developers of Signal to Noise. Just wanted to make sure our IndieDB wasn't making it look like the game was cancelled. It most certainly is not! We've been working hard on it, and have sort of been living that for a while. Soon (don't you hate that word?) we'll be showing a new trailer for the game. You can get an updated alpha now on Desura, so please do that to support development until we can finish (you also get the game cheaper that way).

The game is coming to Nintendo's Wii U console as well as one of the launch systems (alongside desktop platforms). Yes, the game is planned to be moddable even on console.

Check out our website anytime and keep up to date with Signal to Noise!

Hey proword,

We had a unity webplayer demo a few months ago for our kickstarter, but it's offline now and isn't up to date with the game now anyway. I'll let you know when we have a demo up (it will be a webplayer demo again). We're making some tweaks to the core gameplay right now, so we'll probably wait until we're a little further with that to release a new demo.

Mac alpha zip file has been uploaded - waiting to talk with Desura about it being available tomorrow for the beginning of alpha funding.
