Siege of Inaolia, The first game from Riftwalker Ltd, intends to put survival games on the map by offering a refined and fresh experience in the form of a game that pays heavy attention to story as well as a high replay value by means of dynamic combat, a game that promotes skill over spam while remaining easy to pick up. Set in the Dark Fantasy world of Ilastria, a world plagued by wars and magic as well as the orcs and their kin, you control one of three unlikely heroes in their struggle to survive within the ancient fortress of Inaolia, a task that they soon come to learn, has the very fate of the world in the balance.

Whats Changed Since Last Time?

Since last time the team has been hard at work with their various assignments and have come up with some amazing results, progress did slow down for a while as its during this time of the year that most university's and secondary schools have their half yearly exams(that coupled with Skyrim) but never the less the team intended to make up for lost time, Lukasz has finished the first 'Survival Arena' and we're very excited about revealing it for the first time to you guys, this is still a work in progress and more elements might be added to the level but right now most of the basic elements such as placement and whatnot are final but props and their placement might still go through some changes.

Jason has finished up work on our new fancy menu(which will have a fly through of random levels in the background soon) and is currently working on improving the melee system for the game this time it actually tracks the weapon and only if it makes contact with either the enemies or heroes then damage is dealt.

Matthew will be starting up soon once again and will be focusing on creating modular pieces for the huge layout for the story mode, he indeed has a big challenge waiting for him.

Jay was unwell for a pretty long time but is now focusing on getting back on track with Duncan.
Artem recently had a small accident that prevented him from working for a while but he's back and up to full speed, right now hes working on the Orc run animations, making sure that it is aggressive and fluid as well as getting the block animations and a special jump attack done.

Tomas and myself are both currently busy creating and texturing some new weapon models the majority of texturing has been done by Tomas while I myself have been working on the models to further my skills, we make a great team.

Dave is currently working on some new music and he is aiming to really go all out with the next few productions, aiming for more emphasis on choir and chants(Skyrim anyone?) as well as some very soulful instrument solos.

I have been working on Act 2 but due to a number of distractions(the previously mentioned Skyrim and exams) I was only able to complete it till Part 5 but I intend to finish up the rest before Christmas.

Could You Tell Us More About The 'Survival Arenas' Since You've Been Talking About Them So Much?

With the survival arenas we're really aiming for an immense amount of content in a small package, we want to offer the players multiple ways of playing within the survival arena, using the area itself to their advantage, players are rarely going to have the opportunity to stop and hold up in an area the levels have been designed so that players are on the constant move to avoid death, players will also be searching for the right places to jump off just to get that extra distance between them so they can regain health or get a few shots off, we're extremely excited for this mode.

What Have You Got In Store For Us?

We are going to be releasing another Audio Preview this time with more of Draeldos' wit and humor, we are also going to be releasing even more renders of weapons as well as screenshots of the level and seeing as how progress is going I expect that a playable form is not too far off!
