Shinobi Risings is a F2P MMOARPG that is inspired by the Naruto Anime. We will be following the combat style and general feel of the Naruto Universe. However we will be creating our own lore and villages which will give us more creative freedom and a new experience for the players.

A update containing the estimated alpha release date and some general information and progrogress.

Posted by on

Dear community

Our game is expanding nicely and we felt that it was time to recruit a second pair of talented designers to the team. Welcoming Marcos Abrom SFX artist and Terry our new programmer.

Marco will be assisting Lewis in creating jaw dropping sounds and beautiful music that will hopfully immerse you guys deep in the gaming experience. Terry will be working on the networking part of the game and is already hard at work.

As for the visuals, Paws is currently looking in to Morph Targeting technology. This will enable us to give our character facial expressions.

We also made big advances in the lore and concept department. Ashes is currently finishing up the world map along with all the themes and available nations. These will be showcased in the next major update.

And now pice of information that you all been waiting for. The alpha "if all go,s well" will be available for the public by july the 30th.

Awesome progress! If you would somehow feel the need of a c/c++/c# programmer feel free to contact me! I'm not a professional but considering the school is off, I could help you guys for "FREE"!! Hehe cheers! \\O// :'))

Looking forward for that beta version!

nice.. but just saying, the whole team is doing it for free, it's not like you are going to get paid if anything =p

I was not being serious at that point anyway. I said I'm not a professional. With that said it is easy to understand that paying for such a programmer like me would anyway be ridiculous in the first place lol..

It's not also like I was getting paid by the teachers while school was on.. lol...

And again, it is really not like my post was about nothing but getting paid. That "for FREE" was meant to cheer that message and nothing else.It is like telling a schoolmate:"I'll bring a book for you too. FOR FREE!! =)"

Regards

You guys really should post the project on Kickstarter.com .
you will be able to get some donations and more supporters/ team members if any needed.

^then they would owe the backers a game, and kickstarter for a free game?

Reply Good karma Bad karma+2 votes

You mean if they do so they'd have to promise the backers something in the game ? I have once proposed the idea of giving a "donater" a custom decorative equipment, like perhaps a cloak or something, with no extra stats so it's fair, but looks cool. However, the team didn't like that for some reason =p

And i dont know if there's anything wrong with kickstarter for a free game.. i mean people can donate if they want to see the game sooner and better ;p

just my opinion :)
(excuse me if any of the above is typed out wrong or anything, i'm typing this with 1 eye open)xD
Regards.

I've already seen plenty of free games come to Kickstarter. Pledging to a project usually just secures faster dev times and maybe stretch goals of different sorts.

Kickstarter would be good as it would allow multiple servers(e.g. Rp, PvP etc) and also would allow them to buy things for the game engine/upgrade to something like unity pro for better graphics and other things

Yes, but that not possible. You need to have a american or british nationality and be 18 years old to start one up. All the major team members are European.

Second in order to have a kickstarter you need a goal and a "time frame" aka deadline to achive that goal, this puts more pressure on us!

source="https://www.kickstarter.com/help/guidelines?ref=footer"

If you ever wonder why some triple A games are realy bad, it's because the developers need to rush stuff.
All for the guy in a suit standing behind them with a megaphone shouting: I wants more money!!!

sorry for any spelling errors.

well, alpha deadline is already set, 30th of july.
and the team can say that alpha will be launched in the 15th of august or so..
the team can make a couple more vids/screenshots to make it look more interesting and interesting enough for people to donate.

First: If you are not a US or UK resident, just use indiegogo.com instead. It's more or less the same thing.

Second: Your goal is obviously the game, yes? I'd presume you guys have some sort of goal in mind that you want to achieve. A time frame is really just an estimate. Is saying "We expect to release the full game by the end of 2014" really such a big deal? Even so, you can always cut down on some features and prioritize to make that release date, then add more later.

No one is saying you need to rush things, and you also wont get some guy breathing down your neck to get things done. A crowdfunded project is really still your own. All the money go to you guys, or to the assets you might want to buy.

Of course, if you have no interest in crowdfunding, it's a bad idea. But a little bit of money could be good help for the project, no one says you have to ask for a million dollars.

We have said MULTIPLE times that any kind of donation work wont be done until we start work on beta. Right now it's just not something we are focusing on.
We also do not want to cut down and then release later, we want to get this DONE, not add things later that we planned to have at release. Granted villages and countries will be an added thing, but not much else.

So you want to just get the game over with? Sounds like this project has a good future..

Not over with, but completed to the point where we could relax and not have to try to constantly get more done because we released prematurely. I do not mean in anyway that we wont still update and work on the game, but we don't want anything we planned for release to be added in an update. That kind of stuff is for beta, not after release.

here Kickstarter.com you can see some game projects.. Some are really silly but they've raised so much.

Shinobi risings seems to have a great potential, when and if the team posts the project on kickstarter, they only need to follow the outline of it. such as, with $ 1k we can do this, with $ 5k we can add a new village, or more customization options or better animations and so on.
