preeeeety

i'm looking foward to what you're doing with this game, and the idea of differences in the weather is awesome! storms would be challenging with everyone trying to survive, it would be easier to find allies and harder to be attacked by giant octopi, but maybe there are some BAD things in the storms, other than flying lighting monkeys?

just a few ideas, maybe a good idea to ignore the lightning monkey idea.

I was thinking of if you helped a ship being attacked they would join you, or give you supplies. Also a Kraken.

Also a new video is up here: Youtube.com

This looks much better. In comparison the top one now almost looks like foggy weather.

Keep it up!

Description

This is a before and after shot of sorts. The top is a screenshot from in the game while the bottom is a "paintover" I did on top of it.

Up to this point I've been picking colors haphazardly without an overall style guide in mind, so I've slowed things down and tried to come up with one. That's what the bottom one is.

That isn't to say that the ocean will always be a calm and happy blue and the sky blue as well. I want to have weather and such that will affect the way the world looks as you play. So it could transition from the calm seas to a more stormy and foggy version even.

Thoughts?
