Sea Level is a free roaming randomly generated infinite world platformer. It involves ships, pirates, sharks, and sea monsters. Find treasure buy or steal your ships, fight pirates, summon monsters, and go fishing.
So, this game is most certainly not dead, but I have decided that multiplayer is a requirement for it. So I started a new designing the engine from the ground up to make online multiplayer possible. This is the first time I've ever done anything like this, but it seems to be going well. Its a major set back as far as progress with the content goes but i think it will be worth it in the long run.
I have a working prototype and a buddy and I were jumping around the ocean together, a lot of fun.
Biggest challenges I have had have been with smoothing the movements and keeping everything synced up and in order.
I decided to just trust the client about the position of the player instead of relying on the server, this is not recommended for competitive games like shooters but if you want to write something to cheat with I'll be flattered anyone would care that much.
Ill also be making the save files human readable so anyone can change their experience, it will be up to the player.
I've also put this up on greenlight-concepts:

This is a brilliant idea for a game. never have i ever wanted to be a pirate so badly. and thank god your putting in multiplayer, this game looks like so much fun to play with a friend.
Thanks, It originally wasn’t going to have multilayer but it became pretty obvious that it would be way better if it did, so things have slowed down while that’s being figured out.
when will this game be out
Not for a long while yet (if ever) In my mind I have visions of finishing by this September, but when I think about it that seems dumb. Don't know if I'll keep working on it past that point, might just release what I have.
I only have four words:
