Rocket With No Name is platform game where you rocket-jump through levels with a soldier. But what is a soldier without... hats. In this game you have plenty of items. You collect hats, other miscellaneous items and keys. Yes! There are even Mann Co. Supply Crates to unpack unusual hats. So yes, it's more like hat simulator than platform game. Just like Team Fortress 2...

After receiving loads of constructive criticism, like this over here:
and other comments saying that the game is too hard. I decided to make first 5 levels easier... But probably game is still way too hardcore! I wonder if anyone passed at least first chapter (except me). But good luck anyway and thanks for all comments (these positive and not)!

Played for about 30 minutes. Got the level 4... Level 4! Geez this is difficult! ;D
Anyway, review mode: Activate!
I think the concept is pretty darn clever and once you get the hang of it bouncing around is really fun. And finally getting to the finish line after, what felt like a billion tries, is super rewarding.
The execution and overall style is slick and to the point, and I really really like your start menu design! Very good job on that.
The biggest problem is pacing and difficulty. I don't mind dying over and over, hell, I completed super meatboy, but having to watch the same countdown every time over again is tedious and the game speed is so terribly slow that you often end up falling several seconds in which you can't do anything but wait. A quick respawn button that instantly respawns you when you press it would be handy.
I also noticed getting cross-eyed a bit because I constantly tried to keep an eye my cool down bars while also looking at the character. Maybe some visual indication on the hero when the rocket self-destruct is off cooldown would be nice.
Apart from that, get that Avast thing sorted! Avast didn't even let me download it until I shut it down entirely.
Keep it up, keep rocking!
Avast won't let me unzip the RWNN.exe file, coz of Win32:Evo-gen infection.
What about that ?!?
Hi there! I'm sorry to hear that. For me (Eset) file seems to be fine.
Here's VirusTotal scan of this file:
Virustotal.com
When you google this 'infection' it shows that it is quite popular Avast false positive.
+ somewhere else in comments here there is full VirusTotal scan of archive with game
This game made me rage so hard xD
All in all it's a great game, I got to Egypt through fluke, 1-5 was extremely rage inducing. :p
I luckily I recorded the whole experience, if you wanna see it just say :D
Hey! I've watched those :D I'm sorry that you ragequitted :P Another proof that this game is insanely hard :/ (or at least controls are).
But the thing that I worry about are those bugs. At the begging of 1st part I saw you have 60 fps so there was VSync ON. (There's a check box in launcher that is for turning VSync OFF (not on - I have no idea why I did it that way :P)) It should work fine without VSync (Should work with and without but you were recording game footage). But bugs probably appeared here as a result of recording this video (probably with Fraps) and the game somehow stopped calculating physics step properly :/
And about 1-5: you have to do here something like that: Youtu.be [this video is with old levels that were probably harder].
xD Thanks for that info :p I may have another go sometime soon!

Im a tad suspicious... the game is 57mb... and lets be honest, it doesn't look like it has enough stuff too make it THAT big...
Heh, that's rather good that you are suspicious on the Internets ;). After unpacking game 28 of 63 MB takes music (44%). It's because it's .ogg, so it takes more space than .mp3 (it was easier to use ogg than mp3 in game for me). Also with game comes "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86)" (5MB) which is needed to run the game. Most ppl already have it (as it's installed with most apps/games).
And finally here's VirusTotal scan ;): Bit.ly
my only issue is the rocket explosion trigger mechanism only works about half the time. I'm just rapidly mashing my right mouse button as i watch the rocket soar out of my screen. Also, player should run just a little bit faster. There's hardly a difference between walking and running. Also, forward and backward should keep the same speed. Just a thought.
Hi! Rockets won't explode after every click because the rocket explosion ability has to load. It takes a while. You can see loading progress at the top of the screen, next to time. The first is for shooting rockets and next is for rocket explosions.
