Hey Everyone,
Another little update for everyone to see what we have been working on and what can be expected later down the track. We have been doing a lot of code updates and its time for us artists to get more updates from now on!
First things first, if you are interested in Recruits, let us know in our forums, sign up and join the fun. The developers will be able to answer any questions you might have about the game. Also, give us suggestions and ideas, or just come in for a chat. Check out the Forums at this link:
Terrain:
We have also updated our terrain model, We are now using UDK's new landscape feature, so we have the ability to paint on multiple textures and paint heigh information into the terrain. ITs proving to be a big learning curve, but we are getting the hang of it and know it will give us great results. At the moment the blending is to smooth, but we are working on getting some nice edge effects and we will show you guys as soon as we have it done.
Vegetation:
We are currently updating our vegetation to give them more life with a new lighting model and corrected vertex normal, also allowing them to move in the wind. We are overhauling our meshes in 3dsMax and using vert colours baked into the tree leaves to control the animation in UDK using a wind source actor.
Demo:
We plan on getting our first demo level looking very Jungle'ly, a lot like the images below:
