Quake 2 is another classic from id software. While not modded quite as much as it's predecessor or Q3A, it is still a blast to play and the mod's on offer are bundles of fun. Just step into Quake 2 Rocket Arena, armed with the new and almighty rocket and rail gun and you will be gibbing for hours on end.If you dig fast paced action, then load up the good ole Quake 2, fire up a mod or two and have some fun!
This is an updated version of Tosher's Highres texture pack, which Quenelle converted into Jpg format. I found that the Jpg quality on some of the textures was low and they had some bad Jpg artifacts, so I took the original PNG textures and batch converted them to Jpg using Photoshop CS3 at Quality Level 12. I find the quality of some textures to be greatly improved. Please note: I did not create any of these textures, nor did I assemble the original texture pack! I am NOT taking any credit for that! I just converted some files. From my own playing, there are some textures missing, though they were also missing in the original pack. Installation: Unzip the file, and stick the Scripts and Textures folders into your baseq2 folder. Tested with Yamagi's Quake II engine on Mac OS 10.10.5. Should also work with KMQuake2 and other engines, but not personally tested by me.
Great, especially that I use the latest Yamagi sourceport. Quake 2 has amazing gameplay. Keep up the good game!
Wouldent jpeg extended range be better?
