y do ppl love to use the analog stick to look and the buttons to move? is this sort of a controll scheme for lefties? because i am a righty

You can't jump while moving >.< (w/ this scheme)
To jump while moving use your index finger, and you control your aim with the analog nub for higher precision.
I suppose he could add control customization though.
Maybe he will add control options to move with the analog and look with the buttens and other options hopefully?

you can easily costumize controls by binding in console
and proquake can customize buttons :D
