A few days ago was Asteroid Day! It’s basically a yearly, global awareness campaign to discuss the dangers that asteroids pose to our planet and civilization.
We celebrate the Asteroid Day by presenting you the newest concept art featuring (of course!) an asteroid!
In this concept art you can see colonists setting up a mining operation in a dense asteroid field that’s rich in ore and water. On the larger asteroids processing plants, smelters and storage facilities have been built to extract the valuable metals right on the spot. That way their transportation to the inner planets is much cheaper and more efficient.
