Hello everyone!
As you probably know, there have been delays in showing off the gameplay of Primal Carnage. The reason for this is that we wanted everything to be perfect when we showed it, but the simple truth is that it won't all be perfect until the game is ready to release. Obviously we do not want to wait that long, so the Primal Carnage team has decided to suck it up and start showing the functionality and gameplay that we do have, as we have it.
This is great news for the fans, and the team is happy to embrace this approach also. We're an indie developer who doesn't have all the resources of the major companies, but this also means we are free to do things a little differently, and can share our behind-the-scenes development. (Note to our Donators: you will still get exclusives).
But here's the deal: We need you, the fans and the public, to realize that what we show is not intended as the final product. You will be seeing Work In Progress content and Alpha builds. Things will not be at 100% quality or functionality, but we do updates to the game on a daily basis. So if you don't like what you see, feel free to mention it, but please reserve your judgments until the NEXT release or two, when the issue is likely to be worked on.
With that said; I am proud to share the development of Primal Carnage with you all.
For those of you who said that we do not have gameplay or that we have not been working on gameplay, here is a special update for you.

You probably overread "alpha".

dinos animations are very good. great stuff. i hope there will be different types of dinos attacks.

the sounds are terrible, the dinos sounds is anoying and should be remade, the music is fine. the weapons models suck too. but love the rest :) continue the work
and before anyone is a smartass i know is a alpha, but i still didnt like the sounds and the weapons

Way to be constructive! I like how you really did your best to elaborate on why you didn't like the weapon models and why the sounds are annoying! (That is pretty much what they sound like in movies, btw)and how you avoided using moronic words such as "sucks" =)

sorry if you cant read my post. sorry because i miss one "s" in sucks... realy that was my opinion about the alpha gameplay, and if you like the sounds or the models they make it then fine i dont like.
i dont like the model of the weapon they present... and the sounds that the dinos reproduce are simple bad and repetitive in my opinion. got it or do i have to be a sheep and like it like everyone...
He's asking you to be more specific about what you don't like. An example would be: "I don't like the model of the gun because it is too blocky or cartoonish, it should be smoothed out or made to look more realistic." You don't seem to understand that concept.
I don't think you are a sheep. I think you just have bad taste. This is of course IMHO :)
Wow looks great so far. Reminds me of Turok was such a legendary game.
Really, Turok wasn't "a legendary game". It was good, but they made the dinos die so easily that it wasn't that much funny to play. Dinos are supposed to be hard to kill, and kill people easily.
Also, don't make primal carnage as that, please. This game has so much potential, and i'm already seeing that dinos are dying easily, and some sounds could be really better.

It would be cool if you added execution animations such as maybe if a dino comes up from behind a human, the dino bites into the human's neck or something and gives an instant kill and maybe also add a pounce attack for the dinos, since it appeared in the video that the dinos were having a hard time killing people.
"pounce attack for the dinos" wait, what? That's what raptors do.
Also, about the bite from behind, you have sadly mistaken dinosaurs with dinosaur intelligence with humans with combat training. If they do anything much different than a simple devastating attack, trust me, it won't be a single bite on the back of the opponent's neck.
Sure it would! Animals are smart enough to go for the neck, have you ever seen a wolf or a dog (Or any predatory animal, for that matter) attack something? They go straight for the neck or throat because it kills them quickest.
It looked great overall, and I'm considering donating now. Only criticism (Which was mentioned above), is that I thought the sound the dinosaur makes when he jumps/pounces was very annoying; but I'm sure that'd be improved before the game releases anyways since this is an alpha.
Will there be secondary objectives? You know, instead of simply "They kill us, we kill them"?
I expected a more "omg be careful" kind of gameplay for the humans, not a mad shootout.
Then again, with 5 times more classes I guess things will change.
Nice job on the raptor movements and camera. I somehow like them.
I also agree with Savci, and Janpec. May I also suggest you get rid of the UT3 team icons or replace them with your own design to be on the safe side should this game become commercial.

Really liking the look of this so far. The raptor sounds are kind of annoying so far but I assume you guys are going to give them either better sounds or alot more sounds so the repeated screech wont happen.
One thing I would love is if the dinos had first person. Nothing would please me more than looking into the eyes of a marine as iv pounced him and start ripping at his flesh.

Dino d day is just another halflife mod. not to mention, the dinos in THAT game strafe... what's realistic about that? some people are just never satisfied... how about you try to make a decent game about dinos.

Lol looks like a lot of fun. Does still smack a lot of the UE3 engine though, and your dinosaurs don't seem to behave much like dinosaurs would (predatory, not running at you in a hail of gunfire). I think one of the big things you're gonna have to do is pull up the AI to really push how these dinos behave, otherwise you're just fighting zombies (which is what the video footage you've posted ends up looking like).

There is no AI in this video, those were real people playing as dinosaurs. Our game is a multiplayer game such as tf2.
Then I'd suggest designing the gameplay so as to properly allow the dinosaur players to act like dinosaurs - i.e. give them movement bonuses, maybe play with how well they blend into the environment, give them advanced vision modes, etc - basically let them act like the brutal hunters that dinosaurs are. :D

Yes because it's made with UDK.
This is one of the most professional looking "indie" games I have ever seen in my life. The game in it's current state blows 90% of everything else outta' the water and significantly raises the bar for the rest of us developers.
Much kudos/karma to you guys, keep up the great work and hope to pickup a copy when it's out of the oven. Take care.

I hope you're planning on tuning the raptor jump height. It looks a little too tall to be realistic. On the other hand, no one's ever seen a live dinosaur in millions of years, so it's a tough call to make.
Looks fun, and I like the fluid animations, but...as for gameplay so far; I'm afraid it's not something I'll spend my money on. Needs more...something.
