Prepare for hours of intense spaceflight with this great game from Smiling Cat Entertainment. Tilt to steer and avoid asteroids and other obstacles as you build up enough warp energy to make the jump to warp. The faster you go, the faster your warp energy builds, but colliding with obstacles will slow you down and damage your ship. Succeed or fail, you will earn currency from each run that you can use to upgrade and customize your ship. Ten difficulty levels await you to provide proving grounds for your new upgrades. Over 50 achievements await to be unlocked and earned.

The basic premise of Prepare for Warp is simple - tilt to steer clear of the asteroids. However, your throttle is on full open, and with nothing other than the asteroids to slow you down (unless you buy a one-use emergency brake), it's going to get a little bit crazy.

You can buy upgrades such as better shielding, defense lasers, missiles, and better handling to improve your odds of surviving the trip to all 10 destination planets. You can also customize the paint job, laser color, shield color, and warp trail color of your ship, and unlock a variety of uptempo background music.

This game has shown very well at several local gamedev meetups, and also at OGDE last December. It was developed using Unity over a period of about two months. The most challenging part was the difficulty balancing, I was making adjustments to level difficulty right up to the release day. Good thing I had a lot of willing and addicted test players! The difficulty of the levels range from fairly easy (tested as beatable by a 5-year-old) to insanely difficult (I can only beat the last level, Insanji, about 50% of the time when fully awake and alert with a fully upgraded ship, and I'm the best player of the game that I know).

Future plans for Prepare for Warp include an iOS release, and the addition of a possible 5th level of upgrades accompanied by some more end-game levels.

It's kind of like Asteroids, Learn 2 Fly, and Temple Run all had a wild night out together. Curious yet? I'm looking forward to everyone checking out this game and letting me know what you think!
