Description

PolyGod is a rogue-like, randomly generated FPS where you are an assassin known only as "Faceless the Blessed". You must battle the minions of malignant Gods and their Holy Champions in an epic event known as the Trial of the Gods. Each level is randomly generated and features successive Altars of Worship where you exchange your Souls for Blessings. In the PolyGod universe, death is necessarily permanent but with each new game comes a unique first-time experience. The art style is inspired by meta physical surrealist artist Giorgio de Chirico who is famously revered for his eerie mood and strange artificiality of cityscapes. PolyGod also features Arena Shooter multiplayer with randomly generated maps where the Victor is the first player to reach 10 kills. The Gods however only award blessings to those who die, and not to those who kill. In the words of De Chirico: ”To become truly immortal a work of art must escape all human limits: logic and common sense will only interfere. But once these barriers are broken it will enter the regions of childhood vision and dream.”

What will you do if you get greenlit?

We would like to make the game available as soon as possible through Early Access as this would allow us to work in tandem with the Steam community to craft the best gaming experience possible!

What exactly is a Blessing?

It is a power up the Polygod Universe, anything from a speed boost to shotgun bullets to higher damage to the ability to light enemies on fire.

What happens if I get two of the same Blessing?

It will increase effectiveness of the said Blessing.

What happens if I get two Blessings that both affect how my bullets look?

Their effects will combine, creating a unique third effect.

How many Blessings will there be in the released version?

We are planning on including 100 unique single and multiplayer Blessings. In the alpha there are currently 55 and 35 Blessings respectively.

How many levels will the final game be?

The final game experience will be 7 levels long with 7 Boss fights. The Alpha has 3 provisional levels with 3 Boss fights. Each level is intended to be more difficult than the last and will be randomly generated but features a consistent design and visual theme. Each level will also contain 5 unique enemies which will have their own particular behaviours.

How do I play multiplayer over LAN?

Have all people who want to LAN connect to the same wifi/network. After that, someone must host a game and everyone else must connect to the host computer by entering its IP address in the join game screen. After everyone is connected the host can click start game and your match will begin.

Will you include more multiplayer modes?

We would love to add more multiplayer modes to the game!
