Hello.
To start, my word is extremely valuable to me. I made a goal to release updates every two weeks for PokeGen, and we've managed to meet that goal all through the summer. To go back on that word isn't something I'm particularly proud of, but I'm at a point in my life where I don't have much else of a choice.
I'm not seeking pity or anything, but there's a few things that have to be understood. For one, I'm unemployed. I've been doing some minor freelance work which has kept me going over the year, but when combined with not going to secondary school, I have to make a few key decisions at this particular point in my life.
PokeGen is probably the best hobby I've ever had, and will continue to be for the most part, but it doesn't pay the bills. Granted, I've learned quite a ton while developing the game, but I need to start thinking career wise which is something I can't do with all of my time devoted to PokeGen. Because of this, I've decided to start my own project, an original project. Something I can call my own, develop with my own creative ingenuity, and primarily, monetize from.
What this means is that my focus will be directed at developing this new game to a level I consider worthy enough to create a Kickstarter for it. I intend to work on PokeGen as a hobby from this point on, and what that means is that the updates will be released slower. If you remember back in February when we released that first demo, and then on May 31st when we released Version 2, it will largely return to that form so that I can get my life in check.
The next release for PokeGen will be onDecember 1st. It may not be the biggest release, but it will be a release none the less. The game will continue to develop, but at a slower rate, it's just something that has to be done.
If you guys are interested, once it's further along I'll start posting information about this new game and what I intend for it to be. It's an extremely early WIP at the moment, but it exists. My dream would be to work on it full-time and return to updating PokeGen every two weeks as a hobby, but we'll play it by ear. If it doesn't pan out and the Kickstarter fails, I'm not sure what I'll do, but rest assured I'll keep you all in the loop as I always have.
Anyways, I hope you guys can understand the situation and wish me luck on my future endeavors, I'll need it!

You can't make a kick starter based on the Pokemon franchise.
kick starter is about selling your ideas to get the money to create those ideas and seeing as Pokemon isn't your idea it wont work too well.
You can't buy a brain that allows you to read carefully either.

His new game will be his original idea and not connected to any trademarked game...

he wants to make a game that we all enjoy but he missed intermediate and hasn't got a job so he is making a kickstarter so he can get the money so he can keep making the game and kickstarter isn't for selling ideas its for kickstarting a future in this game so shutup about it

I'm really disappointed but not surprised.... I knew it was too good to be true that there would be a free fully working game of 3d pokemon out there that isn't turn based. I'm disappointed it's not going to be updated every 2 weeks but i understand you can't keep going this way... maybe nintendo will actually listen and make this game?? maybe they'll see your talent and try to give you a job making it?

You better hope Game Freak can make this game; not Nintendo. Game Freak designed Pokémon; Nintendo just has rights to sell it on their consoles.
Sorry to disapoint you, but Nintendo could create a MMORPG, he didnt it yet, because Pokemon give him money, with his sereis. Like red, green, remake of then, and keep doing anothers. If Nintendo create a MMORPG, ppls could stop to buy his games, to play for a little cost.
Nintendo will never make a MMORPG of pokemon. If you did not realize it is something they are trying to avoid because MMo's are so unsuccsessfull. Out of all the MMo's out there only a handfull are widelly known. Yes pokemon would get a free boost because of its reputation but it is not certain people will like the MMo or the style of it if its nothing like this.
all we can do now is to wish Xatoku goodluck in his future carrer; and also wait till Dec 1st 2013. And maybe if any one have any ideas of how we can support him and his plan, do share with the rest of us.

they just need a donating page
They can't get donations off this because they don't own pokemon.
We don't donate for PokeGen per se, we donate so that he have more money to start himself up when he start a pro team.
Yeah pro team may not be the best to call it, but it would definitely be larger and more organized than this is.
he can get money thru donors but making the game cost would be illegal

He could get donations if he said it was to keep him alive to keep making games, then he will avoid the fact that is is simply just to make this game. Gotta think smart.
If he is going to make a career out of it, then he would need something he can actually show to people....

Its not done idiot. When its done it will be so awesome no one can get bored that fast. And if they did its the same with the early pokemon games. When its done it will have ALL the pokemon. And you will have to play more then a month to finnish the game and catch ALL off them.

So many "Negative Comments" If we all love this game, and love it's developer, are we not going to do everything in our power to make sure this game gets finished? So rather then saying "This is a Disappointment" say "This is an Opportunity!" So lets all make sure that Xatoku comes up with an ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT IDEA and we will all make sure he gets on his feet so we can get not only the game we always wanted, but also make another persons dream come true!!!! Who's with me!!!!!!!!!

4 months we have to wait 4 months till the updates come oh well but is the update on the 13 September still coming please tell me its coming l cant wait 4 months to see how evolution is going to be like
doubt it. He said "The next release for PokeGen will be on December 1st." :(
