Penumbra is a first person horror adventure focusing on story, immersion and puzzle solving. Violence and combat is hardly an option - the player has to use wits to guide Philip through his final test, and this makes the series unique in offering a truly dangerous and terrifying experience.

Introducing the Humble Indie Bundle!

This is an awesome pay-what-you-want indie video game / charity promotion that we are trying out. Please watch this video to find out what it's all about, or read on!

Pay What You Want

Basically we're taking 5 classic indie games: World of Goo, Aquaria, Gish, Lugaru HD and Penumbra Overture and bundling them in a pay-what-you-want sale. Please remember though, we're just humble indie developers and the more you contribute, the easier it will be for us to make awesome games in the future.

Cross-Platform: PC, Mac and Linux

You've heard us mention how important it is to support Mac and Linux in addition to Windows, and for this promotion we didn't want to leave anyone out (we owe special thanks to the amazing Ryan Gordon for helping make this possible).

No DRM

We already echoed the philosophy which should be common knowledge among mainstream developers about why DRM doesn't make sense. As our thanks for your participation in this humble bundle, your user-experience will not be inhibited by any DRM.

No Corporate Middle Man

Please know that there is no distributor acting as a middle man for this promotion and taking a cut of the proceeds. Your contributions will go directly to support the developers and charities (minus payment processor fees).

Buying The Bundle Helps Charity

By default two charities, Child's Play and the Electronic Frontier Foundation share an equal part of the bundle proceeds with the five games. However, you can also customize how your donation will be split in step 3.

So Please Help Us Spread The Word!

We are really excited to see how this turns out. We don't have a marketing budget so please tell your friends about the bundle. Tweets and Facebook shares are greatly appreciated.

We also want to thank the other indie developers for being bold enough to partake in this exciting experiment with us. Aright, enough reading, GO VISIT THE SITE!

I was hoping the video voice over would go on to say: "...we're not here to start no trouble, we're just here to do the indie dev shuffle!"

I've been dieing to play some of these for a while and this charity event is for a good cause. Too bad I only have $2.10 to my name and I'd feel like a complete **** to give so little for such a great cause.

Good Luck! :)

I'm underaged, jobless and broke as f*. But heres $8 for the greater good. Now I'm having trouble deciding how to split the sum. More for the hardworking indie devs of the games I truly love, or for the hungry and needy... Hmmm...

I just want to know, is $10 OK for developers. These games are old and most probably they are not selling anymore, so in a sense anything more than $5 should be good for developers considering thousands of people going to buy. That's a lot of money isn't it? But is it really?

I just wonder if developers are trying to say "give us whatever you want/can" or "make us happy people, we know you are generous". Both is fine with me but I can't pay more than $10 nowadays and I want to know if this is OK with them or not. I know saying "$5 is OK too" may decrease income so I understand they are not making comments about how much we should pay. I have some problems with my conscience nowadays. So, I won't be bothering :I Good to see some people are paying hundreds though.

And thanks for the great offer :)

Seriously. Go ahead and pay a penny if you want, but really? I'm short on cash (broke-assed college student), so I paid 5 bucks a copy, and gifted one to my sis. I felt so damned cheap. I would have paid 20 or thirty, but again, broke college student. Give what you can. If that's 5 dollars, pay 5. If you can afford 10 or 20, you should probably be a little more generous. But still, if you can only afford or are only willing to give 5 dollars, those five dollars are better than a penny, so be kind.

That's an excuse that's been posted a lot.. sounds kinda lame to me lol but yeah, I guess a 'bad price' is better than no price at all. And besides, you didn't say what your price was so maybe I should stfu and gtfo. Hmm.

How long it will be there? I mean link from email.
Can I download games next year?
Or I must download all of them right now and keep them myself?

To all the people complaining about other people spending low amounts of money on this bundle; this is exactly what the developers want. They are getting money (even if it's just pennies) from people that most likely would not have bought any of the games otherwise.

I honestly didn't have any interest in playing these games before I saw this bundle, but since I could grab it at a low price I did. I paid $60 for this bundle because I really didn't want the games, but I appreciate what these developers are doing.

I think you'll find in the long run that they will do much better financially because of promotions like this.

I've already preordered Overgrowth, and I used my paypal before for L4D2, thus only 52 cents left.

Guys, keep in mind that if you pay something under 1.00 USD, they'll actually be LOSING money for transfer maintenance costs.

So don't be TOO cheap, kay? ;)
