Overcast: Walden and the Werewolf is a western Survival Horror game developed by Microblast Games. The game tells the story of an old hunter who lives alone in the woods, without any connection with the society, making nature his only form of livelihood. However, Walden, as it is called the hunter and the game's protagonist, began to be haunted by a mysterious creature that destroyed the village located near his cabin, killing every person residing on the premises. Now, Walden wants revenge. To accomplish this, the old hunter will hunt the beast, adventure in which he will be faced with numerous horrifying scenarios, alarms and anomalies that only an horror classic can provide.

System requirements say OS: Windows 7/8. So does this use something that's not in Vista or XP? DX 11 or something?

That means this game was developed to run perfectly on Windows 7/8. We are going to expand to new platforms and systems in the near future when it gets "Green Lit". Thank you! :)
I forgot about the "Windows 7/8" thing and bought the game on Groupees and gave it a try. As a follow up to my own question, the game appears to play fine in Windows XP. At least I was able to complete the first area and cross the bridge into the second area so far.
